Young priests awaiting final vows meet for sharing

On : 2023-03-27

Sixteen young priests awaiting final vows after their tertianship came together for a sharing at Ashirvad on March 26. The day began with the experiential sharing by Fr Prashant Madtha SJ on the theme ‘For us Jesuits what must be up, front and on the Table’. It was an insightful talk on the dire need for passion for intellectual apostolate in the Society.

Fr Madtha elaborated on the need for balance in one’s pastoral, professional and intellectual dimension. He invited all young priests to be 'starers' and not mere 'readers' of ideologies of stories and events taking place around in society and thereby to dwell deeper on the meaning making process for our times.

After spending time with the Lord, followed by spiritual conversation, young priests gathered for a plenary session. Later, Provincial Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ addressed the young priests on the expectations of the Society from those awaiting final vows and the eight styles of being a priest today.

It was truly an enlightening and enriching day. The meeting concluded with the eucharistic celebration and tea.
