Loyola Composite PU College, Bengaluru

Loyola Composite PU College, Bengaluru is a Jesuit educational institution committed to academic excellence, holistic formation, and value-based education. Managed by the Bangalore Jesuit Education Society (BJES) under the aegis of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540, the institution strives to form young men and women who are intellectually competent, morally responsible, and socially committed.

The history of the institution is deeply connected to the educational mission of the Jesuits at Mount St. Joseph Campus, Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru. The Loyola educational journey began in 1982 with the establishment of Loyola School for economically underprivileged children in the surrounding neighbourhood. In 1989, Loyola Primary and Higher Primary Schools were established, followed by the Loyola Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in 1992, aimed at empowering youth with technical and vocational skills.

Continuing this mission of education and social transformation, Loyola High School was upgraded into Loyola Composite Pre-University College in 2008. Since then, the institution has grown steadily and today offers quality Pre-University education in the fields of Science, Commerce, and Arts.

Rooted in the Jesuit philosophy of education, Loyola Composite PU College believes in the formation of the whole person — intellectually, emotionally, morally, and spiritually. Inspired by the Jesuit ideal of forming “men and women for others,” the institution emphasizes:

  • Academic excellence and discipline
  • Character formation and integrity
  • Leadership and collaboration
  • Critical thinking and creativity
  • Compassion and social responsibility
  • Care for humanity and the environment

The college provides a student-centred learning environment supported by dedicated faculty, modern infrastructure, sports facilities, cultural activities, and leadership programmes that encourage the all-round development of students.

Guided by the Jesuit principle of Cura Personalis — care for the entire person — the institution seeks to empower students with confidence, competence, and a strong sense of social commitment. Over the years, Loyola Composite PU College has become a centre of learning and hope for students from diverse social and economic backgrounds, especially those from marginalized communities.

As the institution continues its journey of excellence and service, Loyola Composite PU College remains committed to shaping future generations into compassionate leaders and responsible citizens who will contribute positively towards building a just and humane society.
