Loyola High School
Loyola High School began its journey on July 12, 1982, in the village of Kalena Agrahara, Bengaluru, with just 13 students enrolled in Standard VIII. The school initially functioned in a small room adjacent to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Church, reflecting the humble beginnings of a mission dedicated to educational service.
As the institution gradually expanded, the school was shifted on April 4, 1985, to the building that presently houses the Loyola Higher Primary School. The institution was formally inaugurated by the then Education Minister of Karnataka, Shri M. Raghupathi, marking an important milestone in the growth of Jesuit education in the region.
With increasing student enrolment and the growing need for better infrastructure, a new school building was planned. The foundation stone for the present High School building was laid on June 21, 1991, by Fr. Anand Prabhu, SJ. The new campus was officially inaugurated on January 28, 1994, by the then Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri M. Veerappa Moily, and was blessed by Fr. Terence Farias, SJ, then Provincial of the Karnataka Jesuit Province.
Located within the Mount St. Joseph campus on Bannerghatta Road, Loyola High School is part of the Jesuit educational tradition that emphasizes academic excellence, character formation, discipline, leadership, and social responsibility. Inspired by the vision of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the school strives to form students who are intellectually competent, morally grounded, and committed to serving society.
The school provides a holistic educational environment through academics, co-curricular activities, sports, cultural programmes, and value education. Over the years, it has become a respected institution in the locality, especially known for its inclusive approach and commitment to educating students from diverse social and economic backgrounds
Today, Loyola High School serves around 620 students and is supported by a dedicated team of 32 teaching and non-teaching staff members who continue the Jesuit mission of forming “men and women for others.”
