St. Joseph’s English Medium School, Hassan is one of the premier educational institutions in the heart of Hassan city, dedicated to nurturing young minds through quality education, character formation, and social responsibility. Rooted in the rich Jesuit tradition of education, the institution strives to form students into compassionate and responsible individuals committed to excellence and service.

The Jesuits began their educational ministry in Hassan in 1957, laying the foundation for a legacy of transformative education in the region. Continuing this mission, St. Joseph’s English Medium School was established in 2006 initially with classes VI and VII as a feeder institution to the already existing English Medium section of St. Joseph’s High School. The school functions under the aegis of the Karnataka Jesuit Education Society (KJES) and continues to uphold the Jesuit ideals of holistic education and human formation.

Responding to the growing educational aspirations of parents and the community, admissions for Classes I to V commenced in 2016, leading to the formation of a separate English Medium Primary and Higher Primary School unit. Until 2019, the school functioned under the guidance of the Headmaster of the High School section. To further strengthen administration and ensure quality education, a separate Principal was appointed in 2019.

Over the years, the institution has witnessed remarkable growth, with student strength increasing steadily. Today, after careful planning and deliberation, the school is preparing to move towards affiliation with the CBSE curriculum from the academic year 2027–28, marking another significant milestone in its journey of educational excellence.
