Loyola Higher Primary School

Loyola Higher Primary School was established on June 1, 1989, with the vision of providing quality, value-based education to children from the surrounding neighbourhoods, especially those from economically and socially underprivileged backgrounds. The school began its journey with just 17 students in a single classroom for Standard IV during the academic year 1989–1990.

The institution steadily expanded over the years:

  • 1990 – Standard V introduced with 61 students
  • 1991 – Standard VI introduced with 58 students
  • 1992 – Standard VII introduced with 59 students

Located within the scenic and serene Mount St. Joseph Campus on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru, the school is part of the long-standing Jesuit educational mission in Karnataka. The Loyola educational institutions on the campus were established primarily to serve children from economically weaker sections and to promote holistic formation through Jesuit education.

Rooted in the Jesuit philosophy of education inspired by St. Ignatius of Loyola, the school focuses on academic excellence, character formation, discipline, and social responsibility. It seeks to nurture students into compassionate, responsible, and competent individuals who contribute positively to society. The school also emphasizes moral values, community living, and the overall development of every child.

Over the decades, Loyola Higher Primary School has grown into a vibrant educational institution known for its commitment to inclusive and holistic education. Today, the school caters to 728 students and is supported by a dedicated team of 21 teaching and non-teaching staff members who continue to uphold the Jesuit tradition of excellence and service.
