Prerana – Ignatian Spirituality Centre (ISC)
Prerana – Ignatian Spirituality Centre (ISC) is a ministry of the Karnataka Jesuit Province dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, reflection, and the Ignatian way of life. Located within the serene campus of Mount St. Joseph on Bannerghatta Road, Bengaluru, Prerana serves as a centre for prayer, discernment, retreats, and spiritual accompaniment.
The foundation stone for the Centre was laid on June 21, 2006, by Fr. Rossi Rego, then Treasurer of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, in the presence of Fr. Vijay Kumar Prabhu, SJ, the Provincial, along with several Jesuits and well-wishers. The establishment of Prerana marked a significant milestone for the Province and was envisioned as a fitting memorial to the Triple Jubilee of St. Ignatius of Loyola, St. Francis Xavier, and Blessed Peter Faber.
The initiative received the wholehearted encouragement and approval of the Superior General of the Society of Jesus, reflecting the importance of promoting Ignatian spirituality in today’s world.
Today, Prerana continues to be a welcoming spiritual space where individuals, religious, and lay collaborators are invited to deepen their relationship with God through retreats, spiritual direction, formation programmes, and moments of silence and reflection inspired by the Ignatian tradition.
